Should You Buy the Thomas & Friends: Preschool Steam ‘n Speed R/C Thomas?

Every single child and grown up got a kick out of the Thomas & Friends: Preschool Steam ‘n Speed R/C Thomas steam. The smoke stack uses the same idea behind cool air humidifiers to produce steam that is cool to the touch, which makes it safe for your little ones.

There is a blue light inside the smoke stack that makes the steam appear blue and more noticeable, even during the daytime.

Buyers did not have problems with leaks or spills from the water tank either. One small complaint was that the device used to fill the tank could be considered a choking hazard if young children got hold of it without adult supervision.

Two of the biggest complaints revolved around the amount of batteries the toy uses and its remote control or maneuverability. The Thomas & Friends: Preschool Steam ‘n Speed R/C Thomas uses seven batteries total, and two different sizes. Replacing seven batteries at a time is not an inexpensive chore.

As for the remote, users claimed that it you had to be very close to the toy and the train did not manoeuvre well. However, the toy is made for children ages two to six, and at that age they are normally right behind the toy anyway and do not need extremely accurate controls.

Since there are only three buttons on the control (forward, reverse and a button that makes Thomas do tricks), children can’t control when the steam comes out.

Even though there are a few minor complaints, there are always some drawbacks with any toy. Overall, the Thomas & Friends: Preschool Steam ‘n Speed R/C Thomas seems to be a great gift idea.
