Ninjago Destiny's Bounty by LEGO Review

Another product in Lego's Ninjago range, Destiny's Bounty is one of the larger kits available.

This sailing/ flying ship looks exciting and includes quite a large number of special pieces. Fans of Lego Ninjago won't need persuading about this one, but for others it's useful to have a bit more information before deciding whether to buy or not.

Is The Ninjago Destiny's Bounty Worth Buying?

The first thing to mention about the Ninjago Destiny's Bounty Lego kit is that it'll entertain both fans of ninjas and pirates.

The ship is far-Eastern in style, but includes cannons and has several sails. The Ninjago range is popular with many kids, but even if your child isn't a particular fan, they'll probably find lots to enjoy here.

As well as having a great ninja/ pirate theme, this ship is sturdy when built. That's important, as a fragile Lego model isn't as fun to play with.

If it falls apart too quickly or easily once built then play sessions won't last as long and kids will get bored more quickly.

By withstanding most light knocks your kids can keep on playing with this toy without too much interruption.

It'll only come apart when they actually want it to!

Being Lego, this toy requires some assembly - quite a lot of assembly in fact. For most, this is a large part of the fun to be had with Lego. Even though this model is large, it's not too tricky to build. Kids may need a bit of adult help, but the instructions are good and even though the model has some pretty complex features, they don't actually take too long to put together.

Features Of The Ninjago Destiny's Bounty

  • Comes with 6 figures,
  • Includes an assortment of 16 weapons
  • Can transform into a flying ship
  • Includes firing cannons
Other features of this toy, which are sure to capture your child's attention, are a lever that puts the ships sails into 'fly' mode, as well as engines to power the flying ship that transform from the back end of the ship.

There are also cannons which fire Lego pieces and lots of unique Lego pieces, including enemy snakes and the enemy boss who is taller than normal Lego figures and has 4 arms! All these things make for lots of fun and offer great playability.

The best thing about this, which applies to almost all other Lego toys too, is that it encourages creativity and is also educational at the same time as being really good fun.

Kids enjoy figuring out how to make their own customized Lego toys from the pieces they have, as well as figuring out how to follow instructions. There are few toys which offer an educational experience as fun as this.

There are only two minor drawbacks really. The first is that this toy isn't suitable for younger children. The small parts can be a choking hazard and the toy may not stand up to the sort of abuse a very young child would put it through.

The other small drawback is that, for some children toward the younger end of the recommended age range, building this ship might be a bit complicated or time consuming. However, most children will probably do fine with it.

Overall then, this is a really great toy with almost no bad points. It's a bit on the expensive side, but for a toy of its size it's to be expected.

The Ninjago Destiny's Bounty is sure to be a hit with kids due to its size, unique pieces, and numerous special features. A highly recommended purchase.
